Hi, I’m Kasia, a trained seamstress with a lifelong love for sewing and handmade crafts.

My journey with memory bears began after a personal loss. I made bears from a loved one’s clothing so that each member of my family could keep a tangible reminder close.

Today, I create memory bears, cushions and blankets for others, transforming meaningful clothing into keepsakes that are individually handmade with care.

Because sometimes, the most precious memories are the ones you can hold close.

Why Turn a Loved One’s Clothing Into a Keepsake

Many of us have a garment hanging in the wardrobe we simply can’t part with. Mum’s
jumper, dad’s shirt, grandma’s dress. We don’t wear it, but we can’t bring ourselves
to give it away or throw it out because along with the fabric, we’d lose something
more.

A keepsake you can hold

Photos and memories are precious, but some things we need to feel to touch, to
hug, to keep close. A bear sewn from dad’s favourite shirt, or a cushion made from
grandma’s dress, is something you can pick up and hold on a difficult evening.

I know that many people come to me at a difficult time, after losing someone close. The clothing left behind can be among the hardest and most precious things to keep. I can transform it into a bear, cushion or blanket not something hidden away in a wardrobe, but a keepsake you can hold close.

Not every keepsake is connected to loss. I also create bears and blankets from outgrown baby clothes, wedding or maternity dresses and favourite travel T-shirts. It is a meaningful way to preserve an important stage of life.

What clothing can be used to make a memory bear?

Shirts, jumpers, dresses, pyjamas, baby clothes, school uniforms and other meaningful garments may be suitable. Every fabric is checked individually before work begins, so please get in touch if you are unsure.

Can my memory bear be personalised?

Yes. Personalised machine embroidery, names, dates and handmade accessories can be added. You can also request that special details such as pockets, labels or buttons are preserved where suitable.

Do you deliver memory bears across the UK?

Yes. Stitched Memories by Kasia is based in Jarrow and completed keepsakes can be delivered throughout the UK using Royal Mail.

How do I order a memory bear?

Complete the keepsake order form with your chosen bear size, personalisation and special requests. Print a copy for your parcel, then send it securely together with your clean and dry clothing.
